Brinks Home Security Systems – 3 Buttons That Can Save Your Life
As far as home security systems go, a keypad is a keypad is a keypad. Right? After all, the keypads offered by all brands of security systems are the same. Wrong! Brinks home security systems — which some people misspell as Brinx home security systems — come with three buttons that can save your life. Not all companies’ keypads have all three buttons.
These buttons, which are called emergency buttons, form an integral part of all Brinks security systems. Each button’s name reflects an important emergency you might have in your home:
- Fire
- Medical
- Police
In most emergencies, you might be in a panic or might not have much time to call for help. The security professionals who designed the Brinks security systems appreciated your need for a quick and easy way to call for assistance. So they designed these buttons as “one-touch buttons.” If you have an emergency, all you need to do to call for help is press the appropriate one.
One-Touch Fire Emergency Button
If you have a fire emergency in your home, pressing the Fire emergency button activates the fire alarm. The siren goes off to alert members of your household to the emergency. The system also sends a sends a Fire alert to the monitoring center where professionals are keeping an eye out for alarms from Brinks security systems like yours. The monitoring professional immediately notifies your local fire department and then calls you to verify the alarm. If you need help, the monitor tells the fire department that assistance is needed at your home and also the nature of the emergency.
One-Touch Medical Emergency Button
If you or a member of your family has a medical emergency, pressing the Medical emergency button activates the Medical alarm. Instead of a siren going off, the keypad only beeps. The system sends a Medical alert to the professionals who are on the lookout for alarms from homeowners’ Brinks security systems. Immediately, a monitor calls your house to verify the alert. If you need medical assistance, the monitor summons it. And if you don’t answer, the monitor notifies the proper authority to send help.
ADT, one of Brinks security systems’ (or Brinx security systems’) major competitors, doesn’t have a Medical emergency button on their keypad.
One-Touch Police Emergency Button
If an intruder tries to get into your home or actually does get inside, your system sets off an alarm and notifies the professionals at the monitoring center, who are ready to respond instantly to alarms from homeowners’ Brinks security systems.
But many people don’t keep their Brinks security systems — or Brinx security systems — activated every hour of the day. Or sometimes they forget to activate them or deactivate a particular zone. And sometimes an intruder does manage to get inside without setting off an alarm. It can be especially scary, dangerous, and life threatening if that happens when you’re in the house. But if it should happen, the Brinks security systems’ Police emergency button can be a literal life saver. When you press the Police emergency button, the siren sounds, hopefully scaring off the intruder. The system also shoots off a Police alert to the monitoring center. A monitor calls you immediately to verify the alarm and, if necessary, calls the local police.
The professionals who designed the Brinks security systems kept your safety uppermost in their minds. These three little buttons on the keypad demonstrate that concern.
