Why Brinks Security Systems Are Easy to Use

Nine-digit ZIP codes. Ten digit-phone numbers. Eleven-digit phone card call number plus multi-digit access codes. Phew! No wonder some people dread having a security system installed in their homes. Another set of numerical codes to memorize. But not with Brinks security systems.

Brinks security systems are so easy to use, you don’t have to be a reincarnation of Einstein to use them. You can be just an ordinary, everyday Joe or Jane — or even a child.

What makes Brinks security systems — sometimes misspelled as Brinx security systems — so easy to use? That’s easy to answer. It’s the user-friendly keypad.

The Simplicity of the Brinks Security Systems’ Keypad

The designers at Brinks security systems created the keypad for folks like you, most of whom aren’t mathematical geniuses. So they made the keypad very simple to use. First and foremost, the keypad doesn’t require you to enter long, hard-to-remember numerical or button sequences to execute ordinary keypad security functions. All you have to do is press a single button on the keypad.

The Brinks Security Systems’ Keypad Buttons

All Brinks security systems’ keypads contain seven buttons that activate important security functions. The buttons fall under two general categories: General Operations and Emergency.

General Operations Buttons

The Brinks security systems’ General Operations buttons control normal, everyday security functions. By pressing the button, you turn the function on or off. The buttons are:

  • On — turns your security system on or off.
  • Motion Off — turns the motion sensor on or off. You can turn the motion sensor off when people or pets are in the house. After all, you don’t want them to set off an alarm unnecessarily.
  • Instant — sets off the security alarm. If an intruder should enter your home while your Brinks security system is off, pressing the Instant button triggers the siren. The system also sends an alert to the monitoring center and a monitoring professional will call you to verify the alarm. If necessary, he or she will call the local police or other appropriate authority to respond.
  • Options — lets you test your security system. The Options button also receives information about the system’s status and lets you customize that information.

Emergency Buttons

The three Emergency buttons on all Brinks security systems (or Brinx security systems) keypads can be the most important buttons you — hopefully — never have to press. They encompass three terrible emergencies that might occur in your home:

  • Fire — activates the siren and sends a Fire alarm to the monitoring center. A monitoring professional immediately alerts your local fire department. Then he or she calls your home to verify the alarm. If necessary, the monitor then tells the fire department the nature of the fire emergency and the firemen and firewomen respond to the call.
  • Medical — makes the keypad emit a beep and sends a Medical alarm to the monitoring center. A monitor immediately calls you to verify the alarm. If you don’t answer, he or she alerts the proper authorities.
  • Police — activates the main home alarm. The system sends a Police alarm to the monitoring center. A monitor calls you immediately. Then, if necessary, he or she quickly notifies the police.

Easy-to-Use Buttons Equal Peace of Mind

Your convenience, personal safety, and peace of mind are always uppermost in the minds of the people at Brinks. That’s why the designers made sure all Brinks security systems are easy to use.
