Broadview Security – Not a New Player on the Block
Broadview Security. Hmmm. Sounds like there’s a new player on the security block. Right?
Wrong. Broadview Security isn’t a young, new player. It’s actually a veteran player with 25 years’ experience in home security behind it. Broadview Security is actually the next generation of Brinks Home Security.
In February 2008, The Brinks Company spun off two of its divisions, Brinks Home Security and Brinks Home Technologies, into a separate company called Broadview Security.
Broadview Security is a totally independent, publically traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. Right now, Broadview Security is still using the name Brinks Home Security in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. But in 2010 the new company will drop the Brinks Home Security moniker and use just Broadview Security.
Even after 2010, though, Broadview Security will continue using the old Brinks Home Security trading symbol on the New York Stock Exchange: CLF. These three letters continue to be an important symbol of both the old and the new company’s mission, which is to create Customers for Life.
Why the Spin-Off as Broadview Security?
Up till 2008, Brinks Home Security focused only on protecting private homes. But gradually the company got involved in monitoring both security and fire alarms for businesses. “Home Security” is a bit limiting in a company’s name it its going after business accounts. So the spin-off made good sense. And the name change made good sense, too, because it reflects the wider range of security offerings provided by Broadview Security.
Also, being part of a large company sometimes made it difficult for Brinks Home Security managers to go after new business opportunities. The managers at the parent company to whom they reported dealt mainly in money and finance and didn’t understand the home and business security markets. But now the managers running the new Broadview Security can act more quickly to take advantage growth opportunities.
What Changes You Can Expect with Broadview Security
As a homeowner already with Brinks Home Security or a homeowner thinking of going with Brinks Home Security, what changes in service can you expect from Broadview Security?
The only change you’ll notice is in the name “Broadview Security.” Everything else will stay the same. You’ll get the same 25 years of expertise from the same employees of the “new” company. The same professionals will be working in the Broadview National Service Center in Irving, Texas, as before. And the same customer service professionals will be working in the Customer Contact Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, monitoring burglar alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and other services in your home that you and over 1,300,000 other customers signed up.
You’ll also use the same equipment as before, call the same phone numbers as before, and receive the same bills as before. You’ll receive the same top-notch service as before too.
Broadview Security. Twenty-five years of experience — and still counting.
